Samsung Galaxy S20 128 GB Gray
The Korean company Samsung at the beginning of the year presented the world with an updated line of its top-end flagship smartphones - Galaxy S20. The main place in it is occupied by the most expensive and most technically equipped model Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G with the ability to shoot video in 8K resolution and support for 5G networks, we immediately reviewed it. But do everyone really need "superpowers"? Maybe it will be enough what the younger model of the series can do?
The Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone, unlike its congeners in the series, especially from the huge Ultra 5G, turned out to be a small, lightweight and compact pocket device with remarkable capabilities. The smartphone is not only comfortable in size, but also looks great: there is no multicolor, cheap gradient and mirror shine, everything is strict and solid. The black bulging camera block, of course, does not paint, but this is the only design flaw.
The back wall is made of glass, the side frame is made of metal. The smartphone does not slip in the hands, although prints o Samsung Galaxy S20 128 GB Gray n its glasses are, of course, visible. In this sense, the light version is more practical, there prints are practically invisible. In any case, the Galaxy S20 is one of the smallest and most attractive smartphones of the highest level, and fans of small flagships should pay attention to this particular model.
The block with cameras sticks out noticeably beyond the back surface, so the smartphone is unstable on the table: it sways when you touch the screen. But here it is justified: it is better to let the whole body be miniature and thin with only one protruding element.
The side buttons were installed on one side, the buttons are large, comfortable, with a pleasant elastic movement. They do not differ tactilely, both are smooth chrome-plated.
The front camera was inserted into a round cutout in the middle of the screen, in place of the "bangs". Unfortunately, the smartphone does not have an LED event indicator, the indication is possible only using the screen and the Always On function.
Subscreen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. It works pretty quickly, but you still have to hold your finger a little for error-free recognition, a simple touch is not enough.
The card slot accepts either two Nano-SIM cards or a microSD card instead of one SIM card. Hot swap of cards is supported.
At the bottom there is a speaker, a spoken microphone and a USB Type-C connector. Unfortunately, the smartphone lacks a 3.5 mm audio output for headphones.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 can be found in various colors, there are gray, pink, blue, red, white, but not all of them are officially represented here. The body of the novelty is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 standard (immersion for 30 minutes to a depth of 1.5 m).
The Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone is equipped with an AMOLED display (Dynamic AMOLED 2X) with a diagonal of 6.2 inches and a resolution of 3200 × 1440, covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The physical dimensions of the screen are 65 × 145 mm, aspect ratio - 20: 9, dot density - 563 ppi. Thus, at the same resolution, the small S20 has the largest pixel density of all three models in the new Samsung series.
The width of the bezel around the screen is less than 2mm at the sides, 3mm at the top and 4mm at the bottom. The frame is really minimal. 120Hz refresh rate is supported for the screen, but not for QHD resolution. That is, either 120 Hz at Full HD, or 60 Hz at Quad HD.
The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface, resistant to scratches. Judging by the reflection of objects, the anti-glare properties of the screen are better than that of the Google Nexus 7 (2013) (hereinafter simply Nexus 7). For clarity, here is a photo in which a white surface is reflected in the turned off screens (on the left - Nexus 7, on the right - Samsung Galaxy S20, then they can be distinguished by their size):
The screen of the Samsung Galaxy S20 is noticeably darker (brightness in the photos is 107 versus 116 for the Nexus 7) and does not have a pronounced shade. The doubling of reflected objects on the Samsung Galaxy S20 screen is very weak, which indicates that there is no air gap between the layers of the screen. Due to the smaller number of boundaries (such as glass / air) with very different refractive indices, screens without an air gap look better in conditions of intense ambient light, but their repair in the case of cracked out
