- How did art appear in your life?
- Through fashion. Although I believe in happy times - and it happened in my life. I had a working meeting in the old building of the Garage Museum, where the exhibition of Mark Rothko was held. I had time to see the exhibition. I didn’t know anything about Rothko, but I literally froze at one job and thought that I was ill: I began to shake, I could not explain it to myself. - This is true. In one of the interviews I was asked how I choose the items for the collection. Yes, I'm falling in love! It is similar to the feeling of being in love and, of course, the desire to possess this object, this object.
- Do you remember your first purchase?
- Of course I remember. I can't say which work came across earlier, but it seems that there are two works by Sergei Sapozhnikov and the work of Olya Chernysheva. I saw Sergei Sapozhnikov at the exhibition and immediately realized that I needed his work. For me it was a new stage in my life, before that I had never bought art, to be honest. I realized: these are my works. By the way, when the artist Yevgeny Antufiev was visiting me, he said: “Everything is simple with you. It is very clear what you collect and on what basis. "
